Prologue: The Lost City

"No, that's too risky," Captain Lee said. "We need to come up with a more reliable solution."

Dr. Hernandez examined the canyon walls, looking for any cracks or ledges they could use to climb down. "What if we rappel down one side of the canyon and then climb up the other?" she suggested.

Captain Lee considered her idea. "It's worth a try," he said. "Let's get to work." The team spent the next several hours rigging up a system of ropes and pulleys that would allow them to safely descend into the canyon. Dr. Hernandez and Dr. Nguyen took the lead, rappelling down the cliff face with ease. The rest of the team followed, one by one, until they had all made it safely to the bottom of the canyon.

They stood in awe, looking up at the sheer rock walls towering above them. The canyon was eerily quiet, except for the sound of their breathing and the occasional scuttle of a small animal.
